With the Fire PROtec² S200/Sa4, SIMON PROtec expands its product range with an automatic smoke-proof and smoke-tight curtain in accordance with EN 16034. The compact system provides reliable smoke protection and offers new possibilities for textile smoke protection solutions in buildings.

Depending on the requirements, the Fire PROtec² is available as a smoke-proof curtain with classification S200 or a smoke-tight curtain with classification Sa4. This makes the system suitable for different structural requirements for smoke protection.

Smoke-proof to S200 or Smoke-tight to Sa4

The Fire PROtec² smoke curtain is available in three classified versions:

• Fire PROtec² S200 C2 – smoke-proof
• Fire PROtec² Sa4 C2 – smoke-tight
• Fire PROtec² Sa4 C0 – smoke-tight

The Sa4 classification (smoke-tight) confirms that the smoke curtain meets the specified leakage requirements on all four sides at ambient temperature.

The S200 classification (smoke-proof) confirms that the curtain has been tested for smoke leakage at an elevated temperature of 200 °C.

This makes the Fire PROtec² suitable for applications where smoke-proof or smoke-tight closures are required.

Compact smoke protection for various applications

The automatic Fire PROtec² S200/Sa4 smoke curtain is suitable for both wall mounting and reveal mounting. Thanks to its compact design, the system requires little space and can be integrated discreetly into different building designs.

Whether used as a smoke-proof curtain or a smoke-tight closure, the Fire PROtec² is suitable for various applications, including:

• Car parks
• Industrial buildings
• Escape routes (with bypass door)
• Elevators
• Entrance areas and counters

The compact housing dimensions also make it easy to integrate the smoke curtain into building designs where installation space is limited.

Head box dimensions (W × H):

• For unwinding lengths up to 3,000 mm: 150 × 182 mm

•  For unwinding lengths from 3,000 mm: 180 × 212 mm

Easy installation and flexible control options

In addition to reliable smoke protection, the Fire PROtec² features a design that makes installation easy. The practical Snap-in mechanism enables quick and easy installation of the pre-assembled roller unit. This saves time and reduces installation work.

For the automatic smoke curtain, SIMON PROtec offers different control options with the approved RZ-24 hold-open system. Depending on the requirements, solutions are available with or without an emergency power supply and with an EMERGENCY OPEN function.

System sizes for smoke-proof and smoke-tight curtains

The following maximum system sizes apply, depending on the selected classification:

• S200 C2 (smoke-proof): Total area up to 9 m²

• Sa4 C2 (smoke-tight): Up to 4,595 × 4,495 mm (W × H)

• Sa4 C0 (smoke-tight): Maximum perimeter (2 × W + 2 × H) of 19,000 mm

The Fire PROtec² thus offers flexible solutions for different opening sizes and requirements for smoke-proof and smoke-tight closures.
